Hats and Gloves!

This Thursday a wonderful, generous, community member donated hats and gloves for all of the students at Dayton! The Kinders loved them and wanted to wear them all day. I let them wear the hats, but writing in gloves is a bit too much!

Then it was just another crazy Thursday in Miss Cole's room. Everyone wanted fuzzy mustaches and our silly head gear. It was a productive day as we finished our Ted Harrison art projects. The landscapes are hung in our room and the boys and girls houses are hung in the hall.

Schoolhouse Rock - "The Preamble"

5/6th grades will be exploring the U.S. Constitution this month. Here is a classic School House Rock video about the Preamble; enjoy!

First Week Back from Break

We jumped right into the curriculum this week and the kiddos were eager to learn. There were several students who did miss their Mammas and we worked through it and made it to Thursday!

The kids painted their dinosaur kits, popped out the pieces, and then put them into our simulated paleontological dig site (sand in our tote). This week we will bury our bones and then dig them up and put our skeletons back together! This last step will take a few weeks.

I was excited to get back into the swing of things. Looking forward to an AMAZING 2016!
